How to audit user activity

Use History to review who changed a record, what changed and when it happened.

Katrin Erb Written by Katrin Erb Updated Published

Flinq records important changes and workflow actions so authorised users can review how a record reached its current state.

Before you start

You need the View history & audit logs permission. History is shown only on resources that record auditable activity.

Review a record’s history

  1. Open the relevant record.

  2. Select History or the timeline action.

  3. Review the event, date and time, and the user responsible.

  4. Expand an entry to inspect changed fields or related-record changes where available.

Where History is available

History is available across key configuration and operational records, including organisations, offices, users, roles, bank accounts, books, interest pools, statements, payment runs and enabled Fixed Term Deposit or payment resources.

What the audit history shows

  • Record creation, updates, archive and restore events.

  • Changes to selected fields.

  • Role and relationship changes where recorded.

  • Important workflow actions such as approval, rejection, download or marking a payment run as paid.

If you are investigating an event that is not available in the record timeline, preserve the relevant dates and record details and contact Flinq support.

Escalate an audit question

Record the office, resource type, record name, event time with timezone, expected action and affected user. Do not include credentials or bank-file contents in a normal support message. Flinq History records important changes and workflow actions; it is not a complete log of every page view.
