Payment Runs & Reconciliation
How to reconcile a management account
Compare expected client interest with management-account statement credits and resolve differences.
Management-account reconciliation compares the client interest calculated by a payment run with credits found in the management-account statement.
How matching works
Flinq builds the expected interest for each client account, then searches positive, unmatched management-account transactions in the relevant posting window. Depending on the bank arrangement, it can match individual credits or a bulk credit.
Review the result
-
Go to Interest Pooling > Payment Runs and open the relevant run.
-
Open Management Account Reconciliation.
-
Review each account against the statuses below and resolve any item that needs attention.
-
Exact match: statement payment and expected amount agree.
-
Close match: the difference is within the permitted amount tolerance.
-
Needs review: the amount does not match or no matching statement payment was found.
-
Statement missing: suitable transaction-level statement data is not available.
-
Exception accepted: a user accepted the difference with a recorded reason and comment.
Refresh after new data
If a later statement supplies the expected credit, select Refresh on the reconciliation section and review the updated matches.
Accept an exception
Where your process permits it, use Accept Exception for an unresolved account. Choose a reason—such as bank variance, missing bank transaction, reference mismatch, timing difference or bank error—and enter a meaningful comment. The acceptance remains visible in the audit history.
