Statement imports

How to import a statement

Manually import one or more bank statement files and review the result.

Import bank statements so Flinq can create or update accounts, balances and transactions for downstream calculations and reporting.

Before you start

  • You need permission to import statements.

  • The bank, currency and importer must be active and configured for the office.

  • Use files supported by the selected importer. Each file can be up to 20 MB.

Import the files

  1. Go to Banking > Statements.

  2. Select Import statement.

  3. Select the Bank.

  4. Select the Importer.

  5. Upload one or more files. Flinq checks the extension required by the importer.

  6. Select Import.

Review the result

Flinq validates each file and checks related files together where the statement format requires it. After processing, open the statement to review:

  • the source files, bank, importer and date range;

  • the statement status;

  • balance and transaction counts;

  • newly created accounts or branches; and

  • any validation or conflict message.

Statement statuses

  • Incomplete: more pages or related files are required.

  • Imported: the statement was imported successfully and has not yet been used by a payment run.

  • Applied: the statement has been used in a payment run.

  • Archived: the statement is excluded from normal use but remains available for review or restoration.

If an import fails

Check that you selected the correct bank and importer and that every required file is present. Flinq prevents duplicate content and flags conflicts with existing statement data. If the bank changed its file layout, the importer or format template may need to be updated before the file can be processed safely.

Automated imports

Where an automated importer is configured, Flinq can collect statement files without a manual upload. Review the importer status and statement notifications regularly; automation does not remove the need to investigate missing or failed files.
