Banks and bank accounts
How to activate a new bank relationship
Activate a bank, configure data exchange and import the first statement for an office.
After the commercial and banking arrangements are complete, activate the bank in Flinq and configure how statement and payment files will be exchanged.
Before you start
-
You need permission to edit Office Settings.
-
Confirm the required currencies, statement format and transfer method with the bank.
-
Have any connection details or certificates required by the selected importer or exporter.
Activate the bank
-
Go to Settings > Office Settings.
-
Open Banks and activate the bank.
-
Configure the bank's interest posting schedule and any branch-specific overrides used for payment run date suggestions.
-
Open Currencies and activate the currencies used by the relationship.
Configure data exchange
-
Open Importers, activate the required statement importer and complete its settings.
-
Open Exporters, activate the required payment exporter and complete its settings.
-
For automated connections, test the connection and confirm its status before relying on scheduled transfers.
Import the first statement
Import a sample or first live statement and review the result. Flinq can create the bank accounts and branches represented in the file. Resolve any validation or format issues before continuing.
Complete product setup
If the office uses Interest Pooling, create the required interest pool only after the relevant accounts and branches exist. A pool is not required when the bank relationship is used only for other enabled products.
Do not deactivate a bank that has active accounts, statements or product configuration without first reviewing the effect on those records.
